DO YOU EVER FEEL LIKE
A PLASTIC BAG?
"Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?" - 2023
A project which is a collaborative work between Oleksandra Tsapko, Margo Litvinova
& Anastasia Brek. The project addresses the urgent issues of environmental pollution and
climate change. The installation was made out of cables and old telephones glued together.
The phones, bought for very little money on Ricardo (Switzerland's largest online market),
are now re-purposed as a platform to showcase a film, after which they will be recycled.
The film is puzzle split, allowing the viewer to watch the movie until all phones die.
The soundtrack for the piece was made by Oleksandra Tsapko and was featuring
Katy Perry's "Firework" song. The project is a metaphor for the transience of our
world and a reminder that only plastic remains eternal, highlighting the need for
sustainable and responsible choices to safeguard our planet for future generations.
- 65x65 cable frame
- used telephones of different models
- short film
